Sterling Highway Tern Lake to the town of Kenai

Tern Lake was beautifully flat and calm.
I would call this picture below "a reflection of trees".

In the Midwest we would never see a seagull perched in a tree. It is so weird to see them here.

Jim's Landing was originally established by miners to access claims across the river. Now it is a busy boat launch for fisherman and guides working the upper Kenai River.

Below is the confluence of the Kenai and Russian Riers.

Below is the Russian River Ferry used to transport fisherman across the Russian River
for fishing. They have to go over to that side because the side they came from is a boat launch and Daily Public Use area.

What a good idea to have life jackets available for children. We saw this in Seward also.

This man looks like he is enjoying a very relaxed life on the Kenai Lake across from Cooper Landing.

This duck is a lifer for this wanna be birder.
Red-breasted Merganser with her chicks.

Quartz Creek where we camped for the night.

Surfbird

Moose tracks. Yep, I found them when I was looking around the lake, but never saw the moose.

Common Yarrow

Sunset at Quartz Lake; about 10:30pm

Taken at 3:00am through the screen in the bathroom. When you are naked you don't run outside to grab a picture.

Kenai is a small town. And you are looking at it here.
