Out and About the Town of Kenai & Cook Inlet areas

Below we are at the northern point of the Cook Inlet (named after Captain Cook) on the Kenai Peninsula.

Stormy Lake (above)

Swan Creek (left) is at this point used as a canoe/Kayak put-in area. The water seems to
flow a little fast for a canoe and I didn't see
anywhere that had an easy walk in. But it is pretty!

We are starting an adventure down Marathon Rd. It was listed as a place to see. At the end of the road we discovered Marathon Road was named after Marathon Oil who has wells there. We were promptly asked, nicely, to leave as we had come into a restricted area. Oh well, nice drive anyway.

Arctic Cotton flowers, yes really, cotton flowers.

The Burger Bus in Kenai has pretty good hamburgs and excellent onion rings. Besides that, it is fun to go to.

Hand Hewn Home. Known as the Dolchok House, built in 1918. Today it is a coffee house.
