#8 Denali for the last time-It's time to move on

Today many visitors still come via train from Anchorage and Fairbanks to visit Denali National Park and Preserve. Prior to the 1970's when the Parks Highway was completed, the only way to the Park was over the Denali Highway, which remains today a dirt and gravel road or via the train.

Last chance for Caribou sightings.

The sod roofs help insulate the out houses. Some of the first gold miners and homesteaders building log cabin homes used sod roofs to insulate their homes. No, the roots don't grow down
inside the building.

One of the amazing railroad bridges built to get trains across mountains.

We sure enjoyed our stay in Denali National Park and Preserve. We did a lot and saw a lot while in Denali, however, there is always more to see hikes to take, pictures to take and maybe a float down the river. Next time.....
