Stone Mountain Sheep
Stone Sheep along the highway.
The Stone Sheep are indigenous to the mountains of northern British Columbia and southern Yukon Territory. Darker and somewhat slighter than the bighorn sheep found in the Rocky Mountains, they are often mistaken for mountain goats, which are not found in this area. In some areas the sheep come to the highway to lick the minerals that have leeched from the ground to the top of the pavement. ttfn K&D
