Mukluk Campground to Whitehorse, YT

Gad Zooks! As I am uploading and writing this blog it is "snaying" raining-snowing outside. Really it looks a lot like snow but it is warm enough outside that the snow is melting. The weather report on TV says that it is currently 1degC in Whitehorse, with a high of 9 degC today.
Good thing we are visiting friends in Skagway today. Above is the last of the Teslin River. Teslin has one of the largest Native populations (Tlingit's) in Yukon Territory and much of the community's livelihood revolves around traditional hunting, trapping and fishing (and tourism) through woodworking crafts, traditional sewn art and craft items such as moccasins and the tanning of moose hides.

Above right is the original lodges on the Alcan and first advertised in the Milepost in 1949. Gas prices when it closed weren't anything like today's at 1.379 in Whitehorse.
