Byers Lake - Denali State Park

Before going into Denali National Park RV'ers that will be staying in the park need to make sure to have a full tank of fresh water and an empty tank of "black water". We stopped at Byers Lake Campground to accomplish this task.

While Don attended to the real task at hand (it's basically the man's job anyway), I walked through the vegetation to have a look see. Above are blueberry (yummy food for bears) and to the right is the Watermelon Berry (Salomon Seal in the midwest) plant.

To the left are the berries from the early Spring flower some call the Dwarf Dogwood, commonly known as Bunchberry.

Must be Alaskan to be swimming and sunbathing.

And these guys look ready for some serious backpacking. Some say backpacking is the best way to see Alaska.

Possibly Creeping Thistle/Canada Thistle, but it looks more like part of the daisy family to me.
